By now, you should have heard the buzz about The Lumineers, having just been in the country for the Byron Bay Bluesfest and sideshows in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney, their folk rock roots sound and popularity through their song ‘Ho Hey’ being used on commercials for both Bing and Hawaii travel.  If you haven’t caught up yet you can watch the video here:

The album is a stellar set of songs and with songs like ‘Submarines’, ‘Stubborn Love’, ‘Big Parade’ and ‘Charlie Boy’, it is sure to become an instant favourite of yours. The popularity of the rootsy folk sound which has had a revival over the past couple of years through bands such as Mumford and Sons and The Avett Brothers, has led to the band playing shows all throughout the world with a remarkable performance at Coachella in the US a few weeks ago. Additionally the band is playing at Sasquatch festival alongside Sigur Ros, Vampire Weekend, The XX, Alt- J and Arctic Monkeys to name just a few.

My favorite song off this debut record though is a track called ‘Slow It Down’, the intimacy of the electric guitar and vocals of front man Wesley Keith Schultz is something that will remain with you long after the record finishes.
