The Acitones

Meet the Acitones, fresh young faced and about to converge on one of the biggest festival in Australia’s landscape. Handpicked by Triple J as the Unearthed spot for the Bunbury leg of Groovin’ The Moo, The Acitones join a line-up featuring the likes of Vance Joy, The Jezabels, Architecture in Helsinki, The Naked and Famous and Dizzee Rascal to name but just a few. Catching up with Lewis and Isaac from the band, they are very excited about the opportunity to get up and play.

“It’s pretty good. I’m not going to lie. It’s the biggest crowd that we will have played to thus far. We have always gone to Groovin’ and to now have the opportunity to get up on stage is just a dream come true and a bit of a pinch yourself moment.” Lewis said.

Forming in early 2012, success was always on the cards for The Acitones. With indie guitar riffs and thundering drums, they produce a sound reminiscent between the likes of Grizzly Bear, Foals, New Navy and Tame Impala. Currently working on an EP, the band has received positive feedback and acclaim for their tune ‘You’ll Go Places’. With a cracking video clip and having supported Darryl Braithwaite, the future is bright for this young band.

“We practice in a converted water tank which makes for a nice practice space and we got a lot of inspiration from that good Margaret River surf-y vibes. We are working on getting a EP out in the next year so keep your eyes and ears open”
