Shakey Graves

It was September 2014 when i first got around Alejandro Rose- Garcia. I was cruising through the streets of Nashville on the way to the country music hall of fame. His record And The War Came had just been released and they were playing his main single of the album ‘Dearly Departed’.

I went into a state of unknown that i’ve only really experienced a handful of times since. It was the crooning and soft vocal harmonies of Esme Patterson and Mr Rose- Garcia that got he hooked. If your looking for a bit of a weekend turn back, look no further than below. Live from SXSW, check out the acoustic stripped back version.

Fast forward on four years, and he’s just dropped his fifth studio record Can’t Wake Up. Upon dropping the details of the record late last year he said “Next album. New sound. Sell your suspenders.”, hearing the album in full you can hear that. Sounding alot more pop with elements that draw comparisions for my ear to M Ward or Bahamas, you can indulge in the album in full, courtesy of Spotify below.
