Melbourne’s Zenith Moon Hit Hard with ‘Inhibition’

Funky, Crunchy and in yooooooo face, that’s the immediate thoughts when the guitar and bass roll into Zenith Moon’s new single ‘Inhibition’ and that’s even before the funky slick grooves of Andie Z come into the mix. Recorded in what looks like the band’s share house in Melbourne, what I really love about this clip is the lo-fi kinda vibe that they have got goin’ for it.

Some parts are darker in terms of lighting and the lead vocals of Kahli Rose shine out as a force to be reckoned with. This is soulful rock and roll that hits hard. The origins of the song go back to when after Rose finished her secondary schooling as she relates.

“Inhibition is a song I wrote after I finished year 12.  My high school experience was rather tough and negative as I had to deal with racism and bullying, which led me to depression and extreme anxiety…I became so afraid to be myself that I stopped doing all the things I love which included writing and performing music.  In year 12 I decided that I was going to stop letting my depression and anxiety take control.”

You can hear that in the vocal delivery of the track. Overall this video clip is just such fun to watch, the scenes of the band moving around the house to rock it up has such positive vibes that will get you hyped for when they launch the single at The Grace Darling on Thursday June 28. You can get your tickets to the launch here but in the meantime, pleasure your eyes with some smooth funky rock n’ roll below. Inspired by Violent Soho’s ‘Covered in Chrome’ be sure to have the towel ready to mop up the sweat from the dancefest your about to endure.
