Falls Festival 2015/2016 EXPANDS AGAIN :D

As if the Falls Festival couldn’t get any better, they have expanded to add another few names to the bill. Taking place over the New Years eve period at Byron Bay, Marion Bay (In Tassie) and Lorne, it is a once in a lifetime experience like no other. But who am I kidding? I’m sure you are all well aware of what a great time the Falls festival is. I remember quite a few years back now, the first time I ever went to Falls and like you do at a massive festival, I lost all my friends and only found refuge in the front row of the Valley stage. It was quite weird because Rodrigo Y Gabriela were playing before hand and they are one of the best Acoustic duos I have seen. It’s quite amazing the way that they combine flamenco guitar with modern day tracks and create a must see experience. Anywho…. one of the best Falls Festival sets I have seen was being alone by myself and Moby came on to play a killer set. Anyway more reminiscing about that later on.

Returning to Australia for the second time in six months fresh off the back of headlining Splendour in the Grass and showcasing their new record Glitterbug, everybody’s favourite marsupials The Wombats are headed down under to ring in the new year at Byron Bay, Marion Bay and Southbound in WA. Having seen their new energetic live show already this year, it’s an amazing feat that they are back on the bill after playing one headline show a few years back with only ‘Your Body Is A Weapon’ released as the single.

Soulful and releasing definitely one of the contenders for album of the year, Leon Bridges heads down under as well to bring his album Coming Home to life. Fresh from playing the Apple music festival and gigging throughout the US, it will be awesome to ring in the New Year with this guy. 😀

With a new album about to drop later this week, Waaves are also one of the bands included on this years lineup. With some sweet as merch, all of these bands are set to make one of the best summer festivals ever better this New Years Eve. Falls in Lorne may have sold out BUT you can still get tickets to Marion and Byron Bay 😀 and who doesn’t like a summer road trip. More details as they are released 🙂
