If you like your classic 60s and 70s songwriters a la Elton John, James Taylor and Fleetwood Mac and you are in the mood for some new discovery, then chances are you’ll be able to get around the new single from Melbourne singer songwriter Emily Hatton. Singing and performing since the age of five, Hatton has found her own unique sound with flourishes of Country, Folk and Pop.

Hades is the first taste of music that we have for 2019 for Emily Hatton and with the anthemic driving hooky chorus, this track is sure to be stuck in your head for a while. Like most great songs out there, the track came quickly to Hatton in about the space of 20 minutes. “It’s about overcoming a bad situation and knowing you’re better off than where you came from” Hatton said. “It just kind of flowed out, one of those rare cases when everything just worked out perfectly. I’d always heard of artists doing that and didn’t think it was possible for me.”

Together with a darkish video clip featuring elements of the underworld, it’s a song with a strong message of coming out stronger from the other side of tough situations. For more on Emily Hatton head over to her Facebook
